Our first online on-demand course, ‘Foundations of child sexual abuse’ is live and can be completed at any time. It is a self-paced, short course, designed to equip participants with knowledge and understanding of child sexual abuse and the insights into the role that everyone plays in protecting children and young people and supporting those who have experienced child sexual abuse. This foundational course is designed for a broad range of workers at different levels as well as for community members.
‘Foundations of child sexual abuse’ provides foundational knowledge in child sexual abuse including topics such as the prevalence, key definitions and the different types of behaviours and actions. It also explores the context of adult-perpetrated child sexual abuse including who sexually abuses children, where it occurs, what grooming is and what contributes to child sexual abuse occurring and continuing.
Participants can expect to learn how to recognise the signs and indicators of child sexual abuse and gain understanding in how child sexual abuse impacts on a person’s life and the ripple effect on families, communities and much more.
