“There was minimum emotional support for either myself or my kids, we saw the (thankful) removal of the perpetrator, but this left us struggling to keep a roof over our head, pay bills, afford food etc. This created an added emotional and overall mental burden on myself as a mother, which did impact the way I could engage my children (and they still say this impacted their relationship with me and how they see me, many years later).”
